why i started writing
what this space is for, and what to expect from it.
i read a lot of other people's notes. papers, blog posts, lecture transcripts. almost none of my own. starting this to fix that.
the idea is simple: when i learn something worth keeping, i'll write it down here. sometimes that's a deep dive into something i built at work. sometimes it's a half-formed idea i want to think through out loud. occasionally it'll be a lecture i'd give if someone handed me a room for an hour.
what you'll find here
- notes — things i learned and didn't want to forget
- essays — longer arguments, usually about ai, finance, or systems
- lectures — talks i want to teach, in the spirit of lectures on tap
no politics. this is a place for ideas, not takes.
writing forces me to actually understand a thing instead of just nodding along to it. that's the real reason i'm doing this. making it public just keeps me honest.
